If you are a junior Test Manager or a Senior Test Analyst/Engineer and you are looking for the next step in your career, then you definitely looked at moving into a Test Manager or a more senior testing position. For those of you who want to take the next move I hope that my book will help you either by achieving a test manager certification or by gaining the additional know how you need to tackle your current professional challenge. For most of you, this should not be the first software testing certification.
Benefit of a test manager certification
It is not all about the prestige of having an additional certificate, but it is actually about learning new skills or new concepts that maybe you have not used so far. When I took my software testing certification, a lot of concepts were not new and a lot of them I applied before, but there were some bits and pieces that I learned that helped me complement my know how and software testing skills.
In some cases, it would help to have a test manager certification as it can be useful for you to leverage it on your new job or for a pay increase. I wrote an article about how a Test Manager Salary looks like around some countries and where you can get the most buying power in such a role.
Benefit of a test manager eBook
Although for most people it is enough to have a good syllabus provided for the certification course, there are others who prefer to have an additional test manager certification book. For some, it is of value to be able to have a written and easy to read or access page on hand when watching an online course. Or to just have a mobile friendly eBook to scroll around when you need some inspiration. The aim is to just complement the istqb book.
This is why we started work on our book called: A Test Managers Guide. It will act as both stand along test manager certification support material and also as our course theoretical support documentation.
